The tower originally had a large and elaborate entrance architrave but that has now gone. The upper floor has also been removed, the huge basalt blocks having been used to construct the adjacent Byzantine church. Inside the nuraghe there is a central chamber with a magnificent intact ogive vaulted roof. There are three niches in the ground floor chamber and a spiral set of steps which lead to the roof and parapet from where there are fine views across the countryside. The site has a car park and site signs and is a few metres south of the SS 129 where it bypasses Silanus village. It is well worth a visit! megalithic Corsica-Sardinia tour 1986
